        I've been working out at Studio B for the past 5 months.  I have found the gym to be well equipped.  The trainers are both professional and friendly.  The program I have been involved with was intense and balanced.  It included work with both free weights and machines.  I was given advice on how to supplement my workouts at the gym with cardio workouts on my off days.   I was pushed to my limits and was encouraged along the way.  I can honestly say that the workouts never became routine.  The workouts were changed with enough frequency to allow my body to continue to develop.  To say the least, I am amazed at the results.  I have lost a total of 45 lbs.  I have gained muscle mass.  My cholesterol and blood sugar dropped to a normal range.  But, most importantly, I learned a lot about my body and how to take care of it properly. Embarrassingly, I had given in to 'the 40's". With the guidance and dedication of Studio B Fitness I reduced my weight by 15 pounds (8.5%), reduced my body fat by 5.5%, and moved from pre-hypertension to normal blood pressure, all in 7 months. I’m a middle aged guy, who worked out fairly regularly before coming to Studio B.   I was in decent shape for my age, but I felt I wasn’t getting as much as I could out of three visits to the gym each week.  I tended to do the same routine and had difficulty getting beyond certain weight levels.   My original objective was to work with a trainer for a limited time to develop a new routine that I could follow on my own.  I wanted an experienced and knowledgeable trainer with a good certification, who was over 40 and understood the middle-aged body.  Mike fit that bill. 

In the nine months I’ve been working with him, I’ve discovered other advantages of working with a trainer.  Even though we’ve been focusing on upper body development, Mike changes my routine each session so that it’s always different.   I’ve learned a lot about new machines and lifting free weights.  Mike plans my routine and has each station prepared, so we accomplish much more in an hour than if I were working out alone.  He also provides that extra boost when I start to struggle at certain weight levels.  That’s allowed me to get beyond the limits I experienced when I worked out alone.  In the last nine months working with Mike twice a week, I’ve been able to lose body fat, increase stamina, add muscle, and increase strength.  Most importantly, Mike is great fun to work with.  I always look forward to my sessions with him.
